AutoComp plays a supporting role in Renishaw's new Equator product

On March 2, 2011, Renishaw announced its new gauging system called "Equator". The Equator system is capable of high-speed comparative gauging for inspection of high-volume manufactured parts.

Caron Engineering's AutoComp software was designed to accept data from any electronic gauging device and automatically adjust tool offsets on CNC machines. AutoComp can now run on the Equator's PC and can use the results of its comparative measurements to send tool offset adjustments to the CNC control. This software allows the Equator to close the loop from the part measurement to the tool offset adjustment and is essential for robot loaded applications. The Equator can be used in a serial production line between turning centers, machining centers, grinders, and other machines, or within a manufacturing cell to gauge components for multiple machines. Equator is another fine example of how AutoComp adapts to the machining industry as it introduces cutting edge, innovate gauging solutions.
